The masks with a human face used by the Bwete association in initiation and funeral rites were called Pibibuze ("Man") by the Kwele.
Description:
Oval—shaped dance mask with white heart—shaped face, long narrow wedge—shaped face, long narrow wedge—shaped nose with small pierced nostrils. Protruding eyes with pierced slit centers, crescent—shaped open pierced pursed mouth. Handle on back to hold mask, dark brown patina.
