Employed during initiation ceremonies, they had a mnemonic function insofar as they assisted in the telling of "ancestor stories" or in the depiction of proverbs.
Description:
Standing female figure with large oval—shaped head, almond—shaped slit eyes, heart—shaped face. Sloped shoulders, buff—colored chest, boneless bent arms, carved away from body. Hands attached to protruding buff—colored stomach at navel, short legs with small club feet with toes, brown patina.
